Carl Brincat, former CEO of the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), has been named Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at LeoVegas. He will start in August and will be based at LeoVegas' Sliema offices, reporting directly to Abby Cosgrave, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.

In his new role, Brincat will manage relationships with regulators and authorities as LeoVegas explores new global markets. He will also spearhead the company's policy initiatives and oversee interactions with industry trade bodies.

Brincat expressed enthusiasm about joining LeoVegas, highlighting the company's evolution from a startup to a leading force in iGaming. He praised the company's commitment to safe and enjoyable gaming and looked forward to contributing to its international expansion and strengthening relationships with regulators.

Abby Cosgrave welcomed Brincat, noting his extensive experience from the MGA as a valuable addition to the team amid LeoVegas' rapid global expansion.

Brincat concluded his tenure at the MGA in January, after serving since January 2021. Charles Mizzi has since taken over the MGA CEO role.

Additionally, LeoVegas recently acquired Tipico’s US operations, a move expected to be finalized by the end of Q3, marking Tipico's exit from the US sports betting market.
