GamCare has announced the appointment of Tim Hodgetts as the new Director of Clinical Operations, starting in August.

Hodgetts brings over 22 years of experience in the health and social care sector, including senior leadership roles at the NHS, such as Deputy Director for Integrated Care Services at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

As the Director of Clinical Operations at GamCare, Hodgetts will collaborate with the leadership team, overseeing strategic and operational management of the charity’s clinical and support services, including the National Gambling Helpline.

GamCare Chair Margot Daly remarked: “I am delighted to welcome Tim. His significant expertise, knowledge, and insights will be invaluable to the clinical leadership of the GamCare team. I look forward to making further senior appointments in due course.”

Hodgetts himself added: “I’m excited to join GamCare and support the team in achieving its priorities. Leading and supporting the organization to continue delivering high-quality, personalized support services, including the exceptional National Gambling Helpline, is what attracted me to this role. I look forward to working closely with existing partners, the NHS, and government, as well as establishing new relationships to shape the future of prevention, education, and treatment in the field of gambling harms.”

Last month, GamCare emphasized the need for increased workplace support for employees affected by gambling. Research by YouGov revealed that only 9% of workplaces have support policies for gambling issues.
