Australian internet service providers (ISPs) have been instructed by the ACMA to block additional illegal gambling websites that violate the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The recently blocked sites include Richard Casino and Wanted Win, both found to have offered prohibited interactive gambling services or unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services in Australia. Additionally, these sites were found promoting prohibited gambling ads within the country.

ACMA's latest action involved Kayo, a sports streaming service owned by Hubbl, which displayed gambling advertisements during live sports events outside permissible hours. A total of 16 gambling ads were detected across 267 live events between 5am and 8:30pm, times when such ads are restricted.

Since its establishment, ACMA has now blocked a total of 1,011 illegal gambling and affiliate websites. These include Jogi Casino, Dundee Slots, Lucky Hunter, Lucky Wins, Lukki Casino, Spin Fever, Clubhouse Casino, Winport Casino, A Big Candy, Jackpoty, and John Vegas Casino.

The ACMA has also intensified efforts during events like the Women’s FIFA World Cup in 2023, issuing warnings and taking action against operators violating the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. Notable cases involved Mad Entertainment (Golden Lion), Paloma Media (Thunderpick), and Dama and Friolion (Betibet).
