The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the growth of the slot machine sector and Dutch Casino in 2019 and 2020.

The casino sector is also significantly affected, according to 2019 statistics showing that it was previously responsible for 10.7% of the Dutch gaming market.
However, there has been little change in the lottery sector in 2020 compared to 2019. The two most extensive lottery types in the Netherlands are the National Postcode Lottery and the State Lottery. On the other hand, online gaming has been showing more positive signs in recent months with the long-awaited launch of the Netherlands' regulated iGaming market – though it has not been without its bumps in the road.
